"We have zero room for error," James said. "I thought the game we played tonight was pretty good. Again, we only turned the ball over seven times. In two games, we only turned it over nine times. Even though we didn't get as many free throws as we could have, I thought we played pretty good basketball."
Anthony Davis has missed the last 17 games, so they have been playing without one of their top two players for a long time.
"We have only one body," James said. "We played pretty much everyone tonight, just to get a look at everyone. Until some of our big guys and key guys get back—which has been a problem for us this year with A.D., A.R., and Lonnie, who are all big parts of our rotation—we have to keep playing the way we have the last couple of games and try not to make any mistakes."
In 35 games, James has averaged 29.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game. He is also making 50.9% of his shots from the field.
The Lakers are the 13th-best team in the Western Conference, but they are only 1.5 games behind the 10th-best team (the final play-in tournament spot).
They will play their next game on Friday night in Los Angeles, California, against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.
